Privacy
Last updated October 22, 2026
WingWatch has no accounts, no cookies, no ads and no third-party analytics. We don't sell or share anything about you. This page lists the few things that do leave your browser.
The waitlist
When you join, we store your email, the plan you picked and the time you signed up. That's all. We use it only to email you about WingWatch launching, and every email will have an unsubscribe link. The list is kept in a database run by Upstash, through our host, Vercel. To be removed, email privacy@wingwatch.app and we'll delete it.
To stop abuse, the site limits how often one network can sign up or ask for flights (sign-ups: five a minute). It counts by IP address, held in memory for about a minute and never written down.
Page counts
This site counts daily totals: page views, button clicks and sign-ups per plan. A count is just a number for the day. It has no cookie, visitor ID or IP address attached, so we can't tell who did what. Counts are deleted after 40 days.
Maps
The map comes from CARTO, built on OpenStreetMap. Our server fetches the map files and passes them on, so your browser never contacts CARTO. The page fonts are served from our own domain for the same reason.
The display
Your location and settings stay in your browser's storage. If you let the display use your device's location, that stays in the browser too. To show flights, the display asks our server for the planes in your area. The server fetches them from flight-tracking feeds such as adsb.lol and adsb.fi and doesn't save your area. Those feeds see our server, not you. For a flight you follow or click, our server may look up its flight number at FlightAware; only the flight goes to FlightAware, never your location.
Like any web host, Vercel keeps short-lived request logs, and the address of a flight request includes the area it asks about, rounded to about 10 meters. We don't read these logs for that, and we don't copy them anywhere.
If you search for an address, what you type goes straight from your browser to Photon (by komoot) and Open-Meteo, the free services that turn it into a place on the map. They see your search and your IP address, under their own privacy policies. To avoid this, let the display use your device's location instead of searching.
Children
WingWatch isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them. If you think a child has joined the waitlist, email us and we'll delete it.
